ENDLESSLY
Endlessly is a conceptual, portraiture series inspired by metamorphosis and change; it tells the story of 2 people faced with the decision to confront themselves and their troubles, in order to evolve into a new, higher state of life. Through the photos, we see a dual journey of the characters recognising their path, entering their subconscious mind (The Mysterium) and reaching a crossroad of decision, in which they must decide whether to face themselves or turn away in fear. They have the choice to step into the unknown with hope for more or the choice to neglect one’s responsibilities to themselves and return empty handed. The female protagonist is brave enough to walk onwards and is in turn, rewarded. By confronting her past, she is able to be reborn, into a brighter and more beautiful world.

Sketchbook pages: film noir inspired
The black and white images from ‘endlessly’ represent The Mysterium… aka the subconscious of the characters we follow. I wanted the images to reference this film style of the 1940s/50s as they have themes of mystery, sinisterness and dramatics- all needed to emphasise the otherworldly experience felt by the protagonists as they entered their own minds to discover their truths.
I took inspiration from movies, (such as those directed by Alfred Hitchcock), from the photographers Sacha Goldberger, Cindy Sherman, Gregory Crewdson as well as photography from 1940s-50s Vogue.
